Wii U can increase its lead, and the PS4 if it releases next year can get a bit of a jump.
A next gen console needs a minimum of 4GB of RAM.
I'm moving more toward PS3 and Steam.
M$ has really let me down with their relentless casual/Kinect focus. Once my Gold subscription runs out I'm off.
The thing is, if you buy something from Steam you know you have it forever. If you buy a game off XBL or PSN you don't know if it will run on 720/1440 or PS4/PS5

A next gen console has nothing to do with age, its specs.
If Sega came back and released a console with the power of a Wii next year would you call it a next gen console?
Of course not.
The Wii U is not powerful enough to be called a true next gen console.
Sony are going to dominate next gen.
The Wii U isn't even next gen, its a current gen port machine. M$ has shown loyal hardcore gamers they don't give a shit about them, Sony is the only one left offering true next gen experiences for the hardcore by the bucket load.

Just makes me think Nintendo are hiding their weak source specs. I rather spend my money on the ton of AAA games releasing this year that on a hardware that is trying to hide its consoles specs from me.
And I suspect there is a problem with the console. I think they need to consider a delay. Launch it in March next year. Give the developers the time they need and Nintendo the time they need to fix the console and release some specs and pricing details IN PLENTY OF TIME.

Nintendo had no choice but to release the Wii. They didn't have the money to compete with the big boys.
I think you will find that the PS3 outsold the 360 worldwide last year. 360 only outsells the PS3 in North America.
Still, going by sales data, a price cut is NOT needed, however, I think it would a cleaver thing to do ONE DAY before the Wii U is released.
PS3 continues to outsell the 360 as gamers wake up and realize PS3 is where the exclusives are at.
PSV = the PS3's portmachine, continues to struggle at an outrageous price point and lack of innovative titles. Make some innovative original games Sony and cut the price and people will buy your amazingly powerful hardware!

I refuse to buy the Wii U for another Mario or Zelda game. I'd rather replay the millions of other Mario and Zelda games on my other Nintendo consoles.
